The most common Gynecologic Oncology diseases are

Uterine ( Uterus ) Cancer: Uterine cancer is one of the most common cancers among women. It is caused by uncontrolled mitosis of cells in the uterus, and with time it will progress the cancer cells by spreading surround the peripheral tissues and organs. Individuals with high estrogen levels generally suffer from uterine cancer. Beginning of the menstrual period before the age of twelve, diabetes, obesity, have not yet given birth and aging are among the causes of high estrogen levels. It is possible to say that the individuals in the high-risk group for uterine cancer are women in the post-menopause period. The most significant symptom of uterine cancer is abnormal vaginal bleedings. However, mass formation in the genital region, swelling in the abdomen, pelvic pain, weight loss and anorexia are among the symptoms of uterine cancer. Uterine cancer can be successfully treated if it is treated with early diagnosis as a result of routine gynecological controls.

Cervical Cancer: Cervical cancer, which is usually caused by the HPV virus, is one of the most common types of cancer in women. The HPV virus, which is transmitted through unprotected sex , causes infections in the external genital area and reproductive canals of women. The symptoms are unclear which sometimes means that the disease can be carried away for years without being noticed.

Having the HPV vaccine since 12 years old is one of the most important factors to prevent cervical cancer. This vaccine also protects the person against vulvar and vaginal cancers besides cervical cancer. The HPV virus is not the only cause of cervical cancer. The poor immune system , smoking and multiple births can also lead to cervical cancer.

Ovarian Cancer: Ovarian cancer is a very difficult type of cancer to treat as it is one of the most difficult cancer types to diagnose. The cause of ovarian cancer is not fully known. It occurs in the epithelium and embryonic cell region, which is the main part of the ovary, as the result of uncontrolled mitosis of cells. Its symptoms are frequently visible and often ignored in every woman, this is the main reason for the late diagnosis of ovarian cancer. Although in rare cases, symptoms such as vaginal bleeding, loss of appetite, rapid weight loss, urination and indigestion may occur, the first and most common symptom of ovarian cancer is pain and swelling in the abdomen.

Ovarian cancer, which is seen in the age groups after menopause, is observed in epithelial tissues. In the case of ovarian cancer, which is rare under the age of twenty, tumors are observed in the embryonic tissues.

As mentioned, in the treatment of late-diagnosed ovarian cancer, tumors that may have spread to the peripheral tissues and organs are surgically removed and then started chemotherapy.
